On the 18 August '07 the club held a sponsored walk, with all money raised going to the George Best Foundation. On 9 February '08 a cheque for £550 was presented to Barbara McNarry representing the foundation. Anyone wishing to make a donation to this worthwhile charity can do so by visiting the George Best Foundation Website here This now brings the total amount raised for charity to over £9000 since the clubs formation in 2003
Cheque Presentation
On the 29th August 2006 the club presented a cheque for £4,500 to the Craigavon Area Hospital Coronary Care Unit. The presentation took place after the training session at New Forge in attendance was club memebers, nurses from the unit, Lawrie Sanchez, Gary McAllister from the amalgamation of NISC's and Mark's wife and children. The final amount raised was £7700 .
Craigavon Area Hospital
On the 9th of July 2006, 1st Banbridge NISC organised a sponsored walk and barbeque in memory of Club Secretary and founder member Mark Magill. The event was a great success with about 70 people taking part in the walk from the Downshire Arms Hotel, Banbridge to the Park Inn, Scarva. This was followed by a barbeque which was attended by approx 170 people. The money raised by this event is going to the coronary care unit in Craigavon Hospital where Mark had been treated during his illness.
